		<description>we worked most  of the gigs from the mid 90 till 2000 both in la1 and la2 working with neville  in thepit was great and may he RIP for ever michele and fitz still together after eleven years we met at astoria so it will always be special to us</description>

Very very sad this amazing venue was not supported better in it&#039;s last days, why did the owners not get a week of gigs together with more planning!</description>

		<description>Wow, so many gigs to remember and in a venue that changed little over the years. I&#039;d agree with Caren (Emperor were amazing in the LA2), but Morbid Angel too, no? Upstairs; the Priest, the Scorpions and the first time I saw Dragonforce - it really brought it home to me that our generation are having to slowly make way for the new generation... There&#039;ll be another venue like the Astoria one day when somebody realises that London has to compete on an even keel..., and there&#039;ll be people dewy-eyed about that and it&#039;s memories too. As there was the Marquee (both of them), Shades Records and the Ruskin Arms equally....Long Live Rock &#039;N Roll!!</description>
