Blog: Metal Hammer at HRH – Day 1
Where do we begin on such a crazy day in North Wales?
Bands are a good starting point actually and The Plight were our pick of the bunch. A band that have always had an abundance of great riffs but not much in the way of great songs, the band’s new material seemed like this mob are definitely worth keeping an eye on in 2009.
Textures also deserve a mention for bringing in a huge crowd and Johnny Truant gave a highly passionate and intensely brutal performance on their farewell run. On the unfortunate side, Ghost Of A Thousand had to cancel for unknown reasons.
Cancer Bats had something of an off-day and things didn’t get any better for our Canadian buddies after a crazed metalhead broke into their apartment and was asleep on the couch of their chalet. If you think we’re joking, trust us when we say we’re not. Unbelievable scenes.

Haha, yeah that crazed metalhead was part of our clan. None other than Brother Brown. He was found with his nurocks protruding from bottom of bed, complete with nose piercing and other unmentionables. Still, got him out of our way for a couple of hours and we got peace from his incessent snoring – came as no surprise to find he’d been arrested
He’s now earned the nickname Goldilocks, and become an official Cancer Bats groupie!!!!!!!
