Blog: Satyricon In London
A blog direct from Mr Alexander Milas about last night’s Satyricon show in London:
Hey, what’s Andrew Eldritch doing playing for… Oh! It’s Satyr!
Ok, joking about his chopped locks aside, anyone doubting Satyricon’s potency as a band last night only had to wait about three minutes to see why they’ve come as far as they have. Sure, they’ve got roots in the Norwegian extreme metal scene but Satyr’s delivery is pure rock ‘n’ roll, and his supremacy as a frontman is enough to overpower an initially damp sound and get the rammed crowd jostling for position. Or maybe it’s the threat of him poking someone’s head off with his giant pitchfork mic stand. Either way, by the time Frost’s pounded his way into ‘Now Diabolical’ the crowd is at full tilt and there’s nothing left to be done but kick back and hoist a goblet of cider to the synchronised windmilling and wait for the grooves of the encore of ‘Fuel For Hatred’ to give way to the essence of Satyr’s musical vision, the divine, show-stopping ‘Mother North’.
It may be cold in London but it’s a blast of arctic wrath. Tonight, Satyricon have ruled.

It was indeed an excellent gig. It reminded me of Sisters of Mercy as well
I took some pics… as did HUNDREDS of other people at the gig.
