Stereo Wars

Thursday, July 31st, 2008 by Metal Hammer

Want to hear the kind of arguments that go on over the Metal Hammer stereo? We’ve been at war with the folks at Classic Rock because they’ve got a swanky new stereo and we haven’t.

Metallica London Show

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 by Metal Hammer

After announcing that the city of London will be lucky enough to be getting a Metallica headline show on September 15th, Metal Hammer have a conspiracy theory around what the band will be playing on that very evening.

Being quite the detectives around these parts, we couldn’t help but pick up on this particular part of Metallica’s statement while announcing the show: “on September 15 in London, England we’ll be hosting a little bash to celebrate the blessed event of the upcoming addition to the Metallica family/catalog”.

Could this mean that Metallica will be playing the whole new album at this show? Is that what they’ll do to ‘celebrate the blessed event of the upcoming addition to the Metallica family’? Have we just let our brains run away with us on this one because it’s a slow day in the office?

Does the ‘Death Magnetic’ Cover…

Friday, July 18th, 2008 by Metal Hammer

…look like a vagina or have we just had a couple of Viagra slipped into our mid-morning tea?

That said, a Blabbermouth poster seems to have nailed the actual meaning behind the cover:

“It’s not the greatest cover ever…not even close…but everyone here seems to be missing something. The ‘fingerprint’ is actually that metal/magnetic dust stuff that comes with all those ‘fun with physics’ science kits, and the ‘dirt’ in the middle is an accumulation of the magnetic dust. But instead of forming a nice little lump, it’s coming together in the form of a coffin. Hence the title ‘Death Magnetic’.”

That said, it still does look like a lady garden, doesn’t it?

Hi Metal Hammer,
My name is Sasha. I am 26 years old from London. (born in the Czech Republic).
I’ve been a huge rock and metal fan since the age of 11. My all time favourite band is Guns n’ Roses. I’ve been a reader of your mag since around 1999. Love it! :-)
Rock on.
Sasha
