The ‘Hammer Blog Plays The New Guitar Hero
Last week, purely for work purposes because people want to know this sort of thing (ahem), I nipped over to have a quick blast on the new ‘Guitar Hero: World Tour’ game at the Electric Ballroom in Camden last week.
For those who are fans of the game, the hard level on guitar and bass looks totally insane. I haven’t got the finger dexterity for that level of play (the guys who took part in our Metallica contest prior to the band’s O2 show impressed me more than most guitarists I watch) so I thought it’d be an idea to have a bash on the Guitar Hero drum kit.
Wow. With the best of respect to Rock Band (which is awesome too), the Guitar Hero drum kit is far superior. When you hit the pads, they actually provide a bit of spring-back and it has cymbals too which makes gameplay less confusing if you are an actual drummer. Not that I’m an actual drummer. I’m more of a chimp that just likes to hit things but it confused me less than Rock Band did.
The track list included Airbourne’s ‘Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast’, BFMV’s ‘Scream Aim Fire’, a bunch of Tool songs and all sorts of other metal gems.
Guitar Hero: World Tour will be released on most platforms on November 14th and it’s well worth a few of your hard-earned pennies.

Great, more songs to be ruined by the geeky guitar hero fans
Exactly how do fans of a video game ruin a pre-existing piece of music?
i agree, the game is way more awsome while playing drums, but thats probly because i like to break the drumsticks!!! (BOOM, CRASH) -Aham- sorry, i get distracted eas- WOW I SEE DEAD PEOPLE, oh old guy, back to the game, im a drummer and i found the game more fun, but-….nope, thats it!!!
