We tell you all the essential details of what your favourite bands are up to in 2009 in the Hot 100. Today’s edition lets you know what you can expect from death-glam pioneers, Deathstars.
You really broke through in the UK in 2007, do you see that continuing into 2009?
Emil ‘Nightmare Industries’ Nödtveidt: “Naturally, “Night Electric Night” is coming out! We are more on hungry than ever and we can’t wait to sink out teeth into the United Kingdom.”

You’ve written the album, how did that go?
Emil ‘Nightmare Industries’ Nödtveidt: ”Yeah well me and Whiplasher wrote it mainly together, basically I write the music and Whip writes the lyrics. But on a few songs we also worked with the boys in the band a bit more, like Venus In Arms where Cat wrote the first ideas and then me and Whip finished the song. It’s been a long process. The first songs were written over 2 years ago, but that’s how it has had to be since we’ve been touring like maniacs on the last album. I’ve had this portable studio rig with me so that i even can write music on the road if get in the mood. We’ve had to take every opportunity we can to work since we’ve been so busy for the last years.”

What can we expect from it?
Emil ‘Nightmare Industries’ Nödtveidt: “It’s bigger and better, colder yet warmer, beautiful yet brutal… it’s Deathstars deluxe!”

What are you most looking forward to in 2009?
Emil ‘Nightmare Industries’ Nödtveidt: ”Hitting the road with new material is gonna be like a fresh breeze in our live set which makes us really enthusiastic about the live shows. Expanding our possibilities as a live band with better sound/lights/production is also something I’m really looking forward to.”
