We tell you all the essential details of what your favourite bands are up to in 2009 in the Hot 100. Today’s edition lets you know what you can expect from metalcore mob, Unearth.

What are you most looking forward to in 2009?
Trevor Phipps: “I’m looking forward to hitting a bunch of great tours in 2009!  We will be back in the UK in february following up another January tour in the US.  Shortly after that we will be hitting Australia and Japan with our friends in Lamb of God and In Flames!”

The record was great, was it everything you wanted from it?
Phipps: “I just really wanted to put out a great album.  I was really excited about the new material, and it is great to be writing and playing full time with our new drummer, Derek Kerswill, whom I refer to lately as “the colonel”!”

Has your growth in UK popularity paved the way for what you want to do in 2009?
Phipps: “Of course, we try to pave a road in all places!  We are proud of what we have done in the UK, but we really would like to return much more often.”

Is there anything you still want to achieve that you didn’t on the last record?
Phipps: “I’m not sure, I think we did the best we could at the time with this new record, but I’m sure that along the way there will be new ideas and goals that will arise and try to include for our next release.”

What is you ultimate goal for the end of 2009?
Phipps: “Ultimately, everything I do in life is summed up by my neverending quest for the most delicious bowl of tortellini haha!!!”
