What kind of Insult is that? It's like saying he sounds like Scorpio. It's an unquantifiable, pointless and utterly spasticated point you're clumsily attempting to Justify. Clearly Nirvana pushed the creative boundaries further than the Foo's who've always been much closer to the middle of the road. Also, when Dave Grohl is gone - I'd wager not a single foo fighters song, or long player will feature heavilly in any "Best album ever" type discussions, polls or whatever.
For those who still, after all this time, and all these pages - struggle to comprehend the situation:
This isn't a "do you like Nirvana" question, 'cos frankly - we don't give a fuck. Neither should it be a "were/are Nirvana legends" question, cos for the final fucking time:
NIRVANA CHANGED THE WHOLE FUCKING MUSICAL LANDSCAPE.
THUS, THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE A LEGENDARY STATUS, REGARDLESS OF YOUR PRE-PUBESCENT OPINIONS TO THE CONTRARY.
Furthermore, the "Nirvana would be forgotten if kurt wasnt dead innit" argument is a little tired, of course - it makes a difference - but 1991-1994 Nirvana and Kurt were mindblowingly big stars, who commanded more media and musical interest than anyone else, his death just crystallised it, and added a bit of poignancy that 'tards traded on for a while.
