^ That. I went back to the backstage bar, they were truly awful.
Other gigs i've left early, from memory. Mainly at Download, surprisingly.
Iron Maiden at Download. Dull. "Can you hear me Donington?"
Of course we fucking can, there's several hundred grands worth of PA gear either side of you, you absolute cretin. Fuck off back to BA.
Black Sabbath, Download again. Ozzy was just fucking shambolic. Totally lost it. Which is a shame, as just a couple of years earlier, he was great.
Sheep on Drugs. One of my favourite bands of the early 90's, they 'reformed' about ten years ago now. Turned out to be just the keboard player and some talentless posh bint talking over a backing track. Lee, the keyboardist was pissed out of his tree and just leaning on the keyboard.
Um, must be others. Historically, my dad left the Isle of Wight Festival just before Hendrix came on, to avoid the queues for the ferry. Turned out to be his last decent performance.
On the plus side, his mate Steve, who stayed, ended up stuck on the IOW for an extra 3 days with no food or money in the queue for a boat.
