I didn't think that. He never came across as Holden Caufield to me, but I guess I have only read them all once.
I like the fact that he knows he chose a turd but his crippling loyalty leaves him stuck to that turd.
All these different houses have different views on honour, and he is kind of like Eddard in that his brand of honour is debilitating, Plus I enjoy the superstitious luck as finger-bag thing...
I dunno, in thrones the baddies are bad, the goodies are often bad too. Davos is enjoyable because he's elevated scum trying to make it in the background of a ponce-world, but constantly getting dragged to the foreground he hates by the turd he feels so strongly bond to.
Ok. I guess I'm not making it sound like much, but he is a flawed guy that you don't see in every story ever.
Its a lot more interesting to me than, say, Robb Stark. 'Those guys are bad... lets kill em. Oh, they killed my paw, they're doubly bad, lets kill em.'
