Good to see you Goaty. Justified crew in the hizzouse!
Finally managed to catch the first two episodes last night. Drawn straight back in to the wonderful world of Harlan in an instant. Great stuff.
Been some great scenes already (and some brilliant dialogue too, Art reeling of the "qualities" of his Marshals was funny as hell, see below*) Boyd visiting Billy the snake handling preacher was superb, and Boyd's buddy promises to be pretty fun too. Wynn Duffy showing up was fantastic, he seemed a lot more "badass" in his brief appearance, like dealing with Quarles last season has tried his patience and he aint gonna take anyone's bullshit anymore. Was quite taken aback by Arlo at the end of episode one. Stone cold motherfucker. The encounter with the Truth family was most amusing too.
So far so good then.
* "Shit, I bet I got Marshals that are more trouble than your fugitives. Got a young kid here, decorated sniper in the Iraq war, Army Ranger. I donít know how many heís killed, and heís always itching to kill another. Heís probably got PTSD, probably an alcoholic. Not a matter of if that powder keg is going to blow, but when. I got a lady Marshal in there, brought in two of the top 15 fugitives, yet sheís always trying to prove herself. I had always thought that she would take over this place when Iím out, but now sheís left her husband, so itíll be fun to watch her emotional state over the next year, see if she can keep it together. Then I got a local boy, born and raised in Harlan County, been investigated so many times, Internal Affairsí got him on speed dial. Fatherís in prison for murdering two people, one of them a state trooper, and his Daddy killed somebody else last night in prison and I get to be the one to tell him about it. The key to it is talk to him like youíre talking about the weather, donít get all emotional and shit."
