I've started playing it a couple of days ago, but I only played half an hour of it. So, no real encounters as of now.

But seriously, I find it that some songs really give the games a nice atmosphere. Of course, you need to choose appropriate songs for them. Instrumentals usually work best but whenever I play a hack'n'slash I usually go for power/speed metal and some Symphony X. The intros/outros and symphonic parts of some metal songs work great with games.
Actually, just for laughs, did you know that there are utilities to actually change the songs of FFVII, Devil May Cry and Guilty Gear (a game which is, incidentally, already inspired by Queen, Helloween, Led Zeppellin and Guns'n'Roses. Hence the characters K(a)y Kiske and Axl :P and other stuff)
