Earlier this week we revealed that original frontman Jesse Leach had rejoined Killswitch Engage, and it looks like Jesse is feeling confident about the Massachusetts metalcore icons' upcoming new album. "I have the 14 demos for the new Killswitch record, and let me tell you, I'm glad that they didn't turn into Times Of Grace songs, and I'm glad that Killswitch is gonna have the opportunity to write another record with me — or a few more, God willing," the singer said to 94.7 The End radio. "I can tell you right now from the demos, the people are gonna be really surprised; they're setting the bar up high once again. "I'm literally within day three of just listening to them and just sort of digesting them. It's really fast and it's really heavy. It's not what people are going to anticipate, I'm sure. I literally am getting chills right now talking about it. It's gonna blow the doors off people, man. It's gonna be great." Here's hoping. ]]>

I really love Houses of the Molé, Rio Grande Blood and The Last Sucker, I really think those three are great records, so three or four off the new one and then like seven or eight of the old ones and keep it to that, like 20 or 25 songs a night and a two, two and a half hour set, a little bit of something for everyone I’m gonna try and hit every single album I’ve done.” “We’ve only got five songs to go," he added of new Ministry material. "I’ve been listening to it the last couple of weeks and I wasn’t really in the mood, I was just taking it as a joke. Just to pass the time at first but [Mikey’s] raving about it. It’s like, dude c’mon, this is not about Bush, so… that parts over. The ulcers are gone and Bush is gone so it’s time for something new. I think this is actually gonna wind up being the fastest and heaviest record I’ve ever done. Just because we did it as anti-therapy therapy against the country music we would just take days off and thrash faster than I’ve done in a long time, faster than Mikey’s done in a long time. Leading city councillors in Birmingham are apparently pushing forward a motion to have Ozzy receive the city's highest honour! The Birmingham Mail states that there is a belief that Ozzy deserves the Freedom Of The City Of Birmingham because "he is the ‘world’s most famous Brummie’ and a credit to the city". Revealing he was in a punk band during his teens, Councillor Bennett said: “I studied in Liverpool and they do know how to make the most of their music. Yes they have The Beatles but they do like to go on and on about it." Fair point. And don't forget that we're still campaigning for an official Black Sabbath Day to be recognised across the UK. (more…) ]]> Killswitch Engage guitarist and professional maniac Adam D has commented on the mindblowing news that Jesse Leach has returned to Killswitch Engage after almost a decade. Killswitch Engage axeman Adam D has revealed that once Jesse Leach auditioned for the singer spot after the departure of Howard Jones, it felt like a no-brainer that he should return. "Honestly, we didn't want to jump into anything too quickly," says Adam to AOL Noisecreep. "We were in a position where we could take our time and try out as many singers as we wanted. There are a lot of talented singers out there, and we didn't want to rush everything. We ended up mulling it over a bit, and we tried out a few different people. "When we got back in the rehearsal room with Jesse, it just felt right. He's one of my good friends, and the awkwardness of meeting someone for the first time, and all of that stuff, was gone when he jammed with us again. We also knew what Jesse is capable of, so it just took all of us getting in a room together again to remember how cool it once was. He blew us away." Frankly, after our amazing auditions for the gig, we're outraged we didn't even get a phonecall... ]]>
