12 Facts About Slayer’s Forthcoming New Album
1) Slayer’s ninth album is due for release in “late summer”
2) It will be called ‘World Painted Blood’
3) ‘World Painted Blood’ was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Slipknot, the International Noise Conspiracy).
4) Kerry King told Billboard.com: “I figured, and I’m sure the other guys figured, that if there was another five-year gap this would probably be our last record. If we’re going in five-year gaps, that means two records in 10 years. I think we all didn’t want to wait that long. Not that we didn’t have ideas – we toured, put out DVDs and box sets and had a lot of other stuff going on.”
5) Greg Fidelman was recommended to the band by executive producer Rick Rubin.
6) ‘Psychopathy Red’ was recorded in October 2008 and was released as a limited-edition red vinyl 7-inch in April for Record Store Day.
7) The remainder of the tracks – 13 in total – were recorded between January and March.
Kerry King wrote six of the tracks and Jeff Hanneman wrote seven – 11 of which will appear on the album.
9) King: “When you have one guy doing most of the writing you only get one perspective. A lot of Jeff’s stuff has a very punky vibe this time; the stuff I write sounds thrashy but with a hint of punk, and when Jeff writes the stuff is more punk with a hint of thrash. It works together well.”
10) ‘World Painted Blood’ is the first album where the band created material in the studio rather than going into the studio with songs fully prepared.
11) Song titles include: ‘Beauty Through Order’, ‘Unit 731’, ‘Playing with Dolls’, ‘Public Display of Dismemberment’, ‘Americon’ and the title track.
12) Kerry King said the bands will be playing the UK by the end of the year or very early next year.

Yeah i caugh them Mothmonsterman and they obviously kicked arse because its Amon Amarth but standing through Mastodon (alright but boring live) and then Trivium is kinda shit. Plus Slayer have toured with Manson, Lamb of God ect and i don’t like none of them. Although the Canadian tour with Megadeth looks tasty but i live nowhere near and Suicidal Silence are playing and there awful.
True, they are quite rubbish(Suicide Silence). AA do indeed kick arse. Saw them 3 times myself.
