There is no such thing as a good christian metal band. there are bands that that are good that have christians in them, but no, there are defo no good christian metal bands. Christianity and all the other major ones are the reason we fight wars, discriminate and seperate ourselves from every other race and creed around the world. most of these rock stars who become christians do so because they did alot of questionable things in life and now regret them. it gives them a get out of jail free card,

All bands have some sort of belief surely? Even not believing in god/gods/magic space monsters is a form of belief.

Many of those bands and people in the list are quite poor though. However Living Sacrifice, Becoming The Archetype, The Famine and The Showdown are all pretty damn good.

But then again so are Gorgoroth, Hypocrisy, Marduk and all the vehemently anti-christian bands.

Being a good band has nothing to do with your beliefs (although, conversely, being all preachy can make a good band crappy!).

Plus, the classic, basic, “religion is the cause of all wars” argument is a tad simplistic, no? (True in many cases, but still a bit dumb and general). We’re human beings, we can think of all sorts of fun reasons to have a good war.

Oh yeah, and there’s a great interview with Ben Falgoust from Goatwhore where he admits to listening to bands cos he likes them and likes their passion, only to find out they are actually christian….

And he still listens to them! Shocker! (Sarcasm alert).

in the name of equality, yeah lets have a list of metal muslims/hindus/buddhists etc that don’t suck!

The matter it’s I am from a roligious family, and I got my beliefs… and also I hear bands like Lacrimosa, A7X, Metallica, Cradle of Filth, Maiden, YJM and many others..

I have seen much more discrimination from “open minds denominations” like politics, musical trends, and even just plain stupidity… My actions will say what I am, not why I say.. and if someones does not agree on it, well it’s their choice..

My point it’s Respect… and love.. as in the hipothetical case in wich we were all brothers on this litlle “third stone from the sun”… nothing more..
