7 Things We Didn’t Know About Fear Factory Yesterday

jamesgill / News / 16/10/2009 10:42am

A new album you say…?fearfactory_90

1) Fear Factory now features original members Dino Cazares (guitar) and Burton C. Bell (vocals) alongside bassist Byron Stroud (who played on the last two Fear Factory albums) and drummer Gene Hoglan (Dethlok, Strapping Young Lad, Testament and more).

2) There will be a new Fear Factory album in February 2010.

3) It will be called ‘Mechanized’. Burton C Bell says: “The name fits the vibe of the album very, very well.”

4) The CD was co-produced by the band with Rhys Fulber who has worked with the likes of Paradise Lost.

5) It was mixed by Greg Reely who has also worked with Paradise Lost as well as Skinny Puppy amongst others.

6) Of the music itself, Burton says: “It has the raw aggression of what ‘Soul Of A New Machine’ [1992] was but it has the maturity of ‘Obsolete’ [1998]. When I say ‘maturity,’ I mean that it has the songwriting skills that ‘Soul Of A New Machine’ did not have whereas ‘Obsolete’ did.”

7) Fear Factory have signed a deal with an as-yet-undisclosed record company following a split with Liquid 8 Records, the label that issued the group’s last two albums” (‘Archetype’ 2004 and ‘Transgression’ 2005).

Also, keep an eye on the podcast as we will be speaking to Burton C Bell about his side-project, City Of Fire.

NEW ALBUM IN FEB 2010 – OH MY FUCKIN’ GOD!!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Rhyyys Fuuuulber :D
I high-fived him at the end of a Front Line Assembly set ^_^

Also, Fear factory? F’ing ‘A :D

Have they finally sorted this out then?

shit hot…

hope they play a venue bigger than the old astoria which was totally oversold on the last tour

It would appear things have been settled legally with Christian and Raymond then, but it would be even better if both members just re-joined DIno and Burton!
I mean Gene’s a great drummer, but Raymond is just a human drum machine…

nailman

nice fuckin one they owe us a gig though..

violentg

about fucken time!!!

Wait….what?? Did I miss something?? How come Raymond and Christian are out and Dino is back in?!

they will never be able to top “demanufacture”.

Ian McWilliams

New album is something to look forward to.

Did anyone else get very very bored when they listened to the new Arkaea album or was that just me? Divine Heresy are brilliant. I would however, prefer to see the lineup of Burton, Dino, Christian and Raymond rather than this one.

I think this new album will be good but will possibly lack the vibe that the albums which had the original line-up had.

Best of luck to them!

Of course they won’t top Demanufacture.
Once a band makes such a landmark album, few manage to make something even better, but if it’s even half as good as that it’s worth my time :D

OMG WTF is going one moment thier a band and the next thier not i hope this all sorted out now and we can all look forward to the music and i they Will come back to perth like they were gonna this year and YAY a new ALBUM! WOOHOO!

It always amazes me that Fear Factory are such an important band to fans and other signed musicians but they seem to be worth nothing to record companies and seejm to get screwed or ignored by everone they come into contact with.
Demanufacture is responsible for half the music Chimaira, Killswitch and all the bands like that ever written, but yet Fear Factory don’t seem to have much stock in the industry… seems very unfair.

Mike Palafox

Number 3 was heard on an interview by Search & Destroy (the biggest metal blog in Spanish) and Burton C. Bell.
