As do I, espcially on the producer slot. I think because of the lack of producer on the last record, they went abit much with it, hence the retarded vocoder on “lost”,and the whole of “a little piece of heaven” .

I only disagree on a couple of points:

6 – ‘Believe’ is not the most annoying song of all time, that honour goes to ‘Young At Heart’ by The Bluebelles.

7 – ‘Unholy Confessions’ is so far from their best track it’s unbelievable. It’s very good, but it’s not amazing.

I disagree, I only have one suggstion. PLEASE DONT MAKE ONE!

10. Make sure it doesn’t sound like the self-titled and does sound like City of Evil and Waking the Fallen.

Used to love Avenged, they started lacking around City of Evil. Pretty much they peaked at Waking the Fallen after that things started going downhill. I would love to hear another album like that, they may lose me if the new one goes along the same path they’ve been on. Yeah totally agree about the syth voice, Shadows has a great voice and that made him sound horrible.

Would some talent be too much to ask for? Not a big fan but liked what I’ve heard on Scuzz and Kerrang but when I saw them live earlier this year supporting Metallica I couldn’t believe how shite they were live. Really bad! If you can’t sound good live…quit!

ungod, i saw machine head supporting metalica earlier this year, dont get me wrong, MH are killer live but whenever a band supports metallica their set up seems a lot shitter, ive seen avenged on their own tour and they were pretty good, and MH blew me away when they supported slipknot last year..

They sound very good live and those that say they don’t either haven’t ACTUALLY seen them live or saw them when their sound was off at an outdoor festival.

I’ve seen them 3 times live and I was hooked after my first.

I’m really looking forward to the new album and I agree on just about all points.

It’s usually the “posers” themselves that call A7X “posers.”

i agree with ALL of it. Avenged Sevenfold is my favorite band of ALL TIME and I believe that everything you guys’ve listed will improve them GREATLY.

3 – OMG YES! I won’t see you tonight remains one of their best songs ever.

6 – Remember that the self titled was an experimental album; they were trying new things. They only had a vocoder on one song, and I actually liked what they did with it.

7 – Yeah, something like Thick and Thin, with a great headbanging beat would be awesome.

8 – Although I like the fast paced stuff, I also love their slower paced songs and I hope those will make a reappearance.

To add a new point, I’d like to see at least one more Waking the Fallen type song. I’m a pretty hardcore A7X fan of both their new and old shit, from Sounding the 7th Trumpet to Diamonds in the Tough. But something like Radiant Eclipse or Second Heartbeat would be great – bring back screaming for just one song, to show the haters that you can still do it, and let’s go wild with that.

wrong wrong wrong…. city of evil is still by far the most innovative and creative album. the new one should be full of songs like “sidewinder”, “the wicked end”, and “strength of the world”. avenged sevenfold is unmatched when it comes to epic journey-like songs. unholy confessions was great, waking the fallen kicked ass, but city of evil locked them in as a band to be reckoned with.

4. what about their first one? that didnt have any fast solos. oh and their second one didnt have any fast solos. oh. wait. their third one didnt have any good solos either. oh and i almost forgot their 4th one was even worse than all the rest. which “finger blistering” solos are you talking about? cuz i have never heard syn do anything fast, or tasteful. hes not that good at guitar.

A7X are talented individuals in an absolutely terrible band. ther were good on waking the fallen. then went downhill after they tried showing off how good syn was. but hes not good. playing fast shows NO skill. it just proves that you sit in your room and train your fingers to move quickly. and hes not that fast. the songs i write are very complex and kick the crap out of any A7X song except maybe unholy confessions. thats by far their best song. why? cuz theres no crappy solo.

I would love to see synyster do amazing solos this album. He’s such an amazing guitarist. He really doesn’t get the credit he deserves outside of A7X’s fanbase. This guy’s 28, and he easily has the older musicians beat. And has beat them since he was about, what?, 19?! Hell yeah buddy. That screams talent. If don’t like that then you can just go cry in your room. It’s not his fault your guitarhero sucks.

Zacky needs more dynamic parts in this new album. I would love to see more complicated things for him. He’s VERY capable. and that could make songs faster.

Johnny C needs some of his little bass solos too. I love it when he plays fast because how often do you see that in a bass?? Not very much..

The rev needs to keep it up in the drums. He’s amazing

As for their new album, I hope that it is actually something similar if not better then the self titled. I personally like music that flows on an album, and that is a lot of what the last one gave. I became a fan off of their self titled album. It was a good one. Incorporating musical textures from all their albums and throwing something else new in the mix is what i personally expect to see on this new album. It’s sure to be great regaurdless!

While i dont know much about recording, it usually takes a few months at least to my understanding. Plus they need a bit of time to promote it and stuff i guess. I read its due for a summer release (USA summer) so thats around June July or August i think. If anyone else can help out with that kinda info thatd be helpful

It always confuses me as to why people make a big deal about whether somebody likes a particular band or not? If you don’t like Avenged Sevenfold, fair play, everyone’s got their own tastes. If you do like Avenged Sevenfold, you don’t need to be a whiney little bitch to everyone that doesn’t like them.

More importantly, I agree with everything in this list and cannot wait for the new album! Fingers crossed they might bring back some screaming, as M Shadows has been screaming in songs like Almost Easy (which don’t normally have screaming) recently, for example at Sonisphere!!

look, every band out there has had their “take it a different way” album. Some work, and some don’t. The good we can take out of it is that A7X was brave enough to step back and TRY something new. Hell, when I saw them live back in the summer, they admitted that needed to come back and make a hardcore album, not some bullshit pop cd they tried.

Main thing is don’t bash these guys. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth… they all tried it and we all hated it. But they came back and returned to what made them great. Give A7X that chance, then we can decide where they belong in the annals of metal

I think A7X sounds amazing, all of their songs, so what if they went in a pop direction? I still like all of the songs on that album, their not trying to be metal, their just trying to be themselves, they don’t want to stay the same band, but honestly, their self-titled album was the best sounding to me. every time when i’m bored i always hear your songs i hope Avenged Sevenfold is always congratulations !!

1.Who doesn’t love a tank-arse sounding riff?

2. I’m a big fan of every topic they write about, so I don’t mind what the songs are about.

3. The piano was fucking epic. Listen to “Almost Easy”, “I Won’t See You Tonight [Part 1]” and “Warmness On The Soul” if you don’t believe me.

4. Every one loves fucking solos. I would like to see a mix of Syn and Zacky shredding it (“Dancing Dead”), and playing a solo that is slow and has meaning (“Dear God”).

5. Waking The Fallen were great fucking albums, so possibly they could bring Mudrock back to do the new one.

6. I actually liked the vocoder. I thought it sounded really good. I just think it should be used sparingly.

7. I think it’s actually called a “breakdown”. Who cares? Its fucking awesome. Keep it coming!

8. I like all paces. I could go crazy to something like “Burn It Down”, but also just sit and appreciate the great sounds and meaning of a song among the ranks of “Seize The Day”.

9. I actually didn’t mind the new sound of the self-titled album. It was new, different and quite enjoyable.

All in all, I’m thoroughly looking forward to the new album. It’s definitely on my “To Buy” list……………………….and for all you haters, get a life and stop posting shit on these guys if you hate them so much. Why would you waste your time doing something that just makes you pissed? Dumbarses!
