We take a look at the new release from pop-punk/hardcore crossover act, A Day To Remember. Read our introductory feature with A Day To Remember.

“The heavier parts are heavier and the melodic bits are more melodic”. It’s a very old (and boring) cliche for a band to use when they’re discussing their brand new album but it’s very, very valid one when it comes to ‘Homesick’, the new album from Floridian punkers A Day To Remember.

There are moments like the horribly sugar-sweet ‘Have Faith In Me’ that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Fall Out Boy or Taking Back Sunday record and then before you know it, a track like ‘Welcome To The Family’ will kick you square in the nuts in the style of Bring Me The Horizon or Parkway Drive. Confused? You will be!

The bottom line is that if you’re into huge hooks and sickeningly syrupy vocals, this is your album for 2009. A Day To Remember are going to ship a shitload of albums this year but when it’s this poppy, it’s debatable whether you will care or not.

A Day To Remember tour the UK in February. Get tickets here!
