Fucking stupidest announcement ever. We lost machine head and fear factory, but then we get alien fucking ant farm. Wtf is happening to Thsonisphere?

The press release is the best bit:The band came crashing into the UK in 2001 when their cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” hit no 3 in the UK charts, following up with their next hit, “Movies”. The inevitable performance of “Smooth Criminal” will give attendees at Sonisphere a chance to pay homage to the King Of Pop.

THIS IS A METAL FESTIVAL WE DO WANT TO ‘ROCK OUT’ TO FUCKING SMOOTH CRIMINAL. With the spots left on the bill, inflames looks impossible now.

Does it say anywhere on the site that this is specifically a metal festival?…

Cos if I were going I’d love to see Alien Ant Farm even if it was JUST for their cover of Smooth Criminal

Saxon the only good thing about this announcement. The other 2 bands are just awful.

To noobpotato: it’s not a metal festival. It’s a rock festival – rock is a very varied term, and even though I don’t like them, Alien Ant Farm fit into that bracket.

that sucks, saxon legends, loved them at hammerfest but aaf? wtf. god i was undecided wether to go or not, and that has finaly made me decide. i lovely week in the sun for me it it then. why wud i pioson my ears with aaf? yikes.

I nearly wasted 130 quid (or whatever it is) by buying Sonisphere tickets when it looked good (only Metallica and LoG announced then). Lucky escape!

(to frank. the sunday evening was very metal until MfH pulled out thanx to the stupid fucking promoters putting fucking limp biscuits in their place.) Aaf are total shite. The balance of metal/rock was acceptable originally but the removal of Machine Head has tipped it the wrong way- I suppose its to be expected in the relentless pursuit of the elusive £. If only MfH had been more interested in the money than the principle we would still be seeing them.

SAXON!!! At least some real metal has been added to the bill instead of another shitty nu-metal act. If Buckcherry and Megadeth are announced I will be happy.

are sonisphere going by the motto of “if you book them they will come”?? cause while it may of worked for a fictitious (and funny) movie it won’t happen in real life how many people who are going to sonisphere know AAF apart from the nu metlers who are like me now in their 20’s/30’s??

people need to be abit quiet, AAF are a decent band and lets face it if they have replaced MFH (which btw you can see almost every year) i dont mind to much, probably never get a chance to see AAF again and the line up still rocks, Heaven and F*cking Hell are there!!!!! People who say this is a shit lineup obviously are just fans of MH. I for one is still very fecking happy im going!

Theres still loadsa good bands, and Saxon are fucking quality…but i just cant see AAF cutting it as replacements for MH somehow…..

AAF will be cool! You’ve got all these’serious’ bands, so a bit of lightheartedness will be a good mix. AAF are better than Buckbloodycherry

You Brits and Europeans are sooooo lucky. Lose a group and Saxon moves in. To us Yanks, we never get to see Saxon. We love Your band. Maybe some of you think, “Not Saxon again”. We would pay anything to have a two hour show with Saxon. We think, along with Maiden and Priest, this trio are by far the best metal ever made and we do have this friendly jealousy when it comes to these bands. My hope is that Saxon will be named Band of the year come December. I don’t mean from Metal Hammer. The Spirit Award is fantastic. But as we see it, when do they take a shower they are so busy. I bet they have played more venue’s than any other band. Saxon, the band that keeps going and still writes the best Music.
