American Idol Meets Evanescence
Evanescence and American Idol join forces to form a brand new band.
American Idol contestant Carly Smithson is joining forces with former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody and two other ex-members of the band to form, The Fallen.
The group will make an official announcement on Monday at a Hollywood press conference, where they will debut their first single “Bury Me Alive”. There will also be the first live performance from the band and the launch of their website WeAreTheFallen.com
Vocalist Smithson became famous when she appeared on season 7 of American Idol in 2008. Randy Jackson may have called her a dawg and Simon Cowell would have said something vaguely offensive whilst looking smug.
On the current status of the band, Moody says: “We’ve got some amazing material that has been building up inside us for sometime. We’re really stockpiling.”
“Our goal is to release songs in small doses every couple of months for a year and a half. We could take the time and lock ourselves away for six months but we don’t want to do that. We want to get out there now. We want to play the old stuff, and we want to play the new stuff.”

Right lets make this clear. This band will not be Evanescence. Evanescence STILL exists HOWEVER the bulk of the Evanescence members (I.e. the ones Amy Lee booted when she had her last hissy fit) have joined up with Ben Moody who is undoubtably a very successful singer & song writer, to create a new band with a new singer.
So Evanescence still have Amy Lee, just not the other 3 founding members.
tbh i hate any program thats got idol, talent or factor @ the end of it and tbh i hate evanesence theyv never done a good song in their lives all they did was give the teenys reason to cling on to another pop band

If you read all the press releases shes not trying to copy amy lee. She has no itention of doing that. Infact the song she sang on the american idol tour was chosen for her not by her. They’re writing their own material.
And every HIT Evanescence had was written by Ben Moody – Bring me To Life, Going Under, My Immortal etc.
