Anthrax’s Scott Ian To Write Comic
Anthrax guitarist and comic book enthusiast, Scott Ian, has been signed up by DC to pen two editions of anti-hero comic Lobo.
He even admitted that it was easier than writing songs. “I find it much easier to write comic-books than lyrics actually because it’s a natural dialogue. Writing song lyrics is not natural but over the years I know what I need to know to get it done. I find it quite easy to capture a character and use my own personality and humour,” he told Quietus.com
Anthrax are scheduled to appear at Sonisphere in August.

DC first published Lobo in the early 80s. He’s a pretty rock’n’roll figure originally conceived as a bounty hunter he’s now often pictured as an outlaw biker, complete with spikes, leather and denim.
The comic will be drawn by Sam Keith, who has previously contributed to Judge Dread, created comic series ‘The Maxx’ and worked on album artwork.
Whether we can expect a comic style depiction of Scott Ian and his New York gang of thrashers on their next album we’re not sure, but we’d like to see it!

Wow, that is awesome
too right – lobo is totally rock as it is
I’d like to see him write a biography about the story of Anthrax. They’re one of the hardest touring outfits of any genre of music, there must be a million awesome road tales they could tell. That’d be a great read.
I love that Judge Dredd has been name-checked…..even though Sam Keith’s sole Dredd work was ten god-awful pages over 15 years ago.
Ha ha ye spelt Dredd wrong!!!!!
