Are The Murderdolls To Return?
The latest word on the strasse is that Joey Jordison’s shock-punk band could be making a return in 2010!
It was only at the tail end of 2009 we had a chat about the Murderdolls. When they were around they were bigger than a ball of snot in the Statue of Liberty’s nostrils and we thought that their debut album, ‘Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls’, was chocked full of adrenaline-saturated, gore-fuelled goodness.
Well, it seems as though the band may well be plotting a comeback.
Former Murderdolls frontman Wednesday 13 says: “It’s just talks right now. The whole Murderdolls thing, it’s the band that me and Joey put together, and right now we’re having the same conversations that we were having in the very beginning of the band, ‘What direction, what kind of music are we doing this time?’ All the small talk stuff like that, so it’s far away from getting in that room with the full band or something like that. Right now we’re just trying to get a game plan together.”
Joey Jordison took time away from the drums to play guitar in the band. If memory serves correct, they did begin playing a new track called ‘I Love To Say Fuck’ whilst on their co-headline tour with Stone Sour before they called it quits.

To be honest I never understood what Joey Jordison contributed to the Murderdolls as most of the songs were available from Frankenstein Drag Queens albums years before.
I think I would prefer Wednesday 13 to concentrate on another Gunfire 76 album myself.

C’mon people… the band was a nod to Motley Crue era glam/debauchery with a touch of Alice Cooper. Kev said it right, they weren’t trying to reinvent the wheel… just have good time rock.

I remember them quite fondly so it is more of a nostalgia thing for me than anything else. They were a “gateway” band for em in to the metal scene

This is weird. I was talking about Wednesday 13 the other day with a friend. I used to be really into him and the Murderdolls but then I started listening to different music and kinda forgot about them. But when I was into them I met Wednesday 13 and he signed a copy of his album for me. I thought about selling it since I don’t listen to it anymore..I wonder if anyone would buy it? Hmmm…
I can’t really see the point to be honest. Murderdoll’s were pretty pants then, can’t imagine them being any better now. Isn’t Wednesday 13’s solo project basically the same thing anyway?
I’d rather Joey didn’t bother and just started working on a new Slipknot album instead….or even better, formed a death metal group: the song Annihilation by the Hands of God on the roadrunner united album was savage! He should do more like that!!!

i saw the murderdolls at download 03, they were shite! they’d probably be better if 1)they didnt just rehash frankenstein drag queens songs and 2) if wednesday 13 wasnt in the band! yes i know both bands were primarily his projects but he’s awful!
joey would be better off doing something original with a talented band around him. like someone said, the roadrunner united stuff (particularly annihilation by the hands of god) was great.

They were good but as has been said before, they were a coverband nothing more nothing less…the songs were fun when we was young but now they’re just boring…every song based on a horror movie
