My thoughts exactly Beez. I full on cried during the induction (stayed up 'til 6 to watch it. Bad idea :P).
Metallica have inspired me since forever to take no one's approval but my own in everything I do, and to trust my instinct. Metallica were my first love, and the only one that hasn't ever let me down. I'm eternally grateful for their existence

Fuck all the haters. Load was the first metallica album i heard (i was a bit of a late starter) and from the very first note of Aint my Bitch, i was hooked. i listened to that album start to finish about 5 or 6 times that first day, each time getting something new from it. I can still listen to it now (when i can get death amgnetic out of my cd player) and i get new things from it. From load i went back and discovered everything that came before, and my life has forever been changed for the better. I have no shame in saying that Metallica's music has moved me to tears. When St. Anger came out i was going through a really rough patch in my life, and that album got me through it. I love that album. I can sing every word to every song... i dont even notice the snare (or lack thereof) when i listen to it. i hear the raw emotion and energy. Hearing James speak at the induction, as Beez said, was inspirational. Dream big and dare to fail. seeing Jason up on stage next to james screaming 'master' into the microphone is one of the sweetest things ive seen for a long time. I could go on about this all day, and go through every single song and tell you what it means to me, but i wont. All i will say is that for me, the world is a brighter (and heavier) place because of those guys. Metal Up your Arse and Bang the head that does not Bang!!!!!

Well said indeed. Metallica take a lot of crap from a lot of people, especially for St Anger, simply because they have the balls to branch out and try new things and not consistently play the same type of music over and over again. Good times. |m|

Spot on mate. I didn't expect much from Flea but his speech was brilliant, as were the others and it was brilliant to see Jason back with them, even if it was for one night only.
