Blink 182 Reform & Green Day Name New Album
For those that are interested in such things, Blink 182 have reformed and Green Day have titled their new album and announced a release date.
Blink 182 have reformed and are writing a new album and Green Day have titled their brand new album 21st Century Breakdown which is expected to surface in May.
An announcement on Blink’s new website says:
“Hi. We’re blink-182. This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.
Summer 2009.
Thanks and get ready…”
Green Day have been working on their new album 21st Century Breakdown with Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins producer Butch Vig since October of 2008. It has been 5 years since the release of the band’s multi-platinum American Idiot.
It’s also been announced that 21st Century Breakdown will be split up into three acts – ‘Heroes And Cons’, ‘Charlatans And Saints’ and ‘Horseshoes And Handgrenades’ – suggesting that it could be another concept record.

Most music sites have been reporting this, whether it is metal or not – it’s the biggest story in alternative music this month, thus deserves a mention. Metal Hammer reviews punk and urban albums in their magazine, so why not have articles on other genres of music?
