Bloodstock Announce Cradle of Filth/Blind Guardian As Co-Headliners!

Bloodstock are delighted to announce the following:
It is with great pleasure the Bloodstock Team can announce the second headliner for this year’s Bloodstock Open Air festival. In order to give you more (head)bang for your buck, this is another co-headline slot, with two great names from the world of metal. First up are Epic Metallers BLIND GUARDIAN. No strangers to Bloodstock, the German metallers are looking forward to their return. Singer Hansi Kürsch checked in with this message:
“It’s almost seven years ago since we have played Bloodstock for the first time. Still we have never forgotten our first appearance in front of a fantastic British audience. Easy to imagine how thrilled we are by the given chance to play there for a second time. I expect nothing but some outraging bards singing our songs with us and a band in perfect shape – take that for granted.
Next up, the UK’s very own blasphemous boys CRADLE OF FILTH will be hammering the final nail in the evening’s coffin for what promises to be a spectacular set. With a penchant for assaulting spectators not just aurally, the Suffolk six-piece’s live shows often resemble a horrific circus with all manner of freaky stunts providing the backdrop for their dark cacophony. As COF frontman Dani Filth eloquently communicates his excitement on their upcoming appearance:
“Cradle Of Filth, metal forged from the hot friction of wanking nuns, are very much looking forward to headlining the Bloodstock heavy metal festival this Summer, especially knowing and loving most of the other bands playing on the bill over the three day weekend. But obviously not in a gay way. Carcass, Kreator, Moonspell, Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Apocalyptica, Satyricon, Enslaved, Saxon, Gwar, Candlemas, Turisas… this line-up alone places this up-and-coming British festival right up there with its sometimes-a-pain-in-the-arse-hard-to-reach European rivals. So hail to England! Hail to Bloodstock! This is a proper metal festival for proper festive metallers. No shoddy haircut screamo pap allowed~! FOAD! (Insane screaming continues and then fades to black….)”

Whats with the co-headling this year? I hope co-headling doesn’t mean the average headline slot gets shortend. I hate Cradle but Blind Guardian, Fuck yeah!
Nice one! the headers this year are pretty decent, I on the other hand prefer CoF than Blind Guardian as I can’t stand power metal! but I will just have to get extra drunk the night they play so I can with stand them!
This is the definition of WINFAIL.
Bloodstock Open Air has come such a long way for what is still pretty much a new festival. This is an awesome line-up this year and it shows how credible an event it is that it can draw the big names it has. I’ll give it another 5 years and it’ll probably be just as big as Wacken, if not bigger.

It’s been too long since they played the UK, we need them back over here. Let them bring over their whole stage show, it’ll be money well spent. Who’s with me on this?
well thats disappointing. I can understand Blind Guardian, who I wouldn’t say i’m a fan of but saw at Wacken 07 and still found enjoyable….but Cradle?………glum

Blind Guardian are a wonderful choice for a headlining band. I’ve seen them live twice. Just wait for them to play “Valhalla”.

Why dis cradle? If they had announced that this years headliner was Will Young I could understand it….. Lets face it, there’s a lot worse (including all that emo bollox). Cradle are a natural choice, like all the other bands…. grow up! It’s going to be a blast!
