Bon Jovi Download 2010 Rumours Kick Up A Notch

terrybezer / News / 04/11/2009 11:54am

download_90Will Bon Jovi be adding a packed Donington Park to the amount of faces that he has both seen and rocked?

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have doubtlessly noticed that the mighty Bon Jovi have a Download-sized gap in their O2 residency itinerary on Saturday, June 12th. We say this even though the Download dates are yet to be announced because Download usually takes place the week after Rock Am Ring (which starts on June 4th) and before Hellfest (which starts on June 18th).

Anyways, we cornered a Download insider on this particular set of circumstances whilst on duty at Monday’s Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards and let’s just say that there wasn’t a denial when we shone a light in their face and asked if Bon Jovi were still a possibility for Download 2010.

Would you be up for some Bad Medicine at Download? After Def Leppard tore Download a new one this year, we’d be delighted for Bon Jovi to pick up the baton, as long as they left Bed Of Roses at home for the night. Obviously.

NNNNNNOOOOOOO!

download is really going down hill now!

why not just get the spice girls to close on sunday aswell!!

sonisphere is leading the way for metal now!!!

WTF is happening to download, i mean fuck, i live in Australia and only see the line up in hammer or on youtube and it seems to get worse ever year?
Since when has fucking hair/glam been cool, it fucking sucks.

Download is not a METAL festival, its an ROCK festival, dumb ass >_>

If you want a metal fest go to B.O.A….tempted by that one as well

I’d happily take Bon Jovi at Download, so long as we get someone like Rammstein or Metallica as well :P

Snakepit

I dont mind bon jovi playing as long as they balance it out with some metal.

Snakepit

Oh yeah and somethng good

sounds sweet, I imagine they’ll play the second slot on sunday or something. I hope AC/DC or Van Halen headline. Fuck, man, that would rock.

I reckon its gonna be “Classic Rock Saturday” if Bon Jovi are announced, and like fuck Bon Jovi would play if they weren’t headlining. And they’re back at the o2 on the Sunday so yeah ;)

John, do you honestly believe that Bon Jovi would sub-headline?

I have a feeling Download will be just as lame this year, really going downhill big time.

JonBon did an interview on radio 1 on monday that got aired yesterday stating the band are going to do indoor arena shows in 2010 and come back in 2011 to do outdoor shows and even then the shows could just be like hyde park and lanchashire lccc, so i wouldnt get to caught up on download having a worse line up in 2010 or bon jovi even playing it, cos we all know where the last 5 years worth of rumours of rammstein playing have got us!

king of heavy metal

good band but why change classic rock day to saturday? it fitted perfect on the sunday to end the download weekend, please bring back journey and tesla as well

dont care about download its always over my birthday and its usually very average. and to the other Mark yes sonisphere is better than download by miles, but BOA is actually leading the way in metal as its not just a bunch of mainstream acts and some crap. BOA is about TRUE FUCKING METAL!!!!!

Agreed Scott, that’s why it has such diverse bands playing (well as far as rock music goes anyway).

I have a feeling Green Day are gonna be headlining one of the days too considering, they’re doing two stadium shows in June…

But hey, as long as Rammstein are headlinging one of the days I’m happy :D
There’s at least two (three if they have the fourth stage again next year) other stages of bands to check out if the Main Stagers aren’t to my liking (Y)

How the hell is Download going down hill? Download isn’t a metal festival, but there has always been plenty of metal there (well, except maybe 2008, that did suck :P )

i get the feeling its going to be rammstein ac/dc and bon jovi at download next year.have a feeling maiden will play sonisphere,i hope

Going Downhill???

I’ve been to every Download and last years was by far the best! It even meet the lineup for Leeds 2000, was amazing.

Bon Jovi headline would be great, bring him on!

I can’t see Bon Jovi playing this year. I’d like to see them there eventually but I suspect they would make more money playing their own show. I think Rammstein are 99% certain for Dwonload 2010 and I would LOVE to see Van Halen or AC/DC playing as well but I reckon AC/DC may turn up at Sonisphere.

They so won’t play.

Maybe that dates free becausen they want a day off.

@Andy Copping
You can have a classic rock Sunday so long as….we get a Thrash Four Friday!!!!

Where’s the big announcement Mr Sneap was supposed to be making anyway!?

:S

Greenday are doing UK dates around Download. I reckon they’re a better bet.

maybe a chance to play a suprise set at download on the saturday?

rammstein aint gonna be at download cos they’re headlining sonisphere. Bon Jovi may be there but one thing that i havnt heard about is the idea that Rage Against The Machine will play? there making a come back and supposedly touring around Download so why not?
I would love to see AC/DC there tho!

It would obviously be the best download ever if that happened, but i doubt with them spendin 10 days at the o2 in june there gonna just go to download as well. :P

ac/dc are allegedly doing download… they have a download ready space at end of euro dates and apparently confirmed on their site & then removed it
… as are (just to really freak you out): Muse (!), blink182 & Foo Fighters. oh and RATM

my first Donington was way back in 1986, 1 went every year after that whilst it was M.O.R., 2009 was my first download and i thought it was fantastic, a real diverse mixture of groups, i went mainly for the sunday line up but really enjoyed all the 3 days, killswitch and slipknot where amazing, well done to the organisers for giving something for everone, same again this year please, see you at the bar :-)

donnington monsters of rock was a far better fest.
