Bullet For My Valentine on Download 2009 and the Guns N’ Roses LP
We spoke to Matt Tuck, singer and guitarist for Welsh metal heroes, Bullet For My Valentine to ask him whether the boys have been asked to play Download Festival 2009, and whether the guys have heard the new Guns N’ Roses album, ‘Chinese Democracy’ and what they thought of it:
“Are Bullet for My Valentine ready to headline Download? And have you been asked?
I don’t think we couldn’t do it. We’ve proven ourselves on tour: we’ve just sold out Alexandra Palace which is 9,000, so I think we’ve earned the right to if we want to. But the time has to be right. We’ve only had two albums. I only just saw that the dates for it have been announced, we’ll wait and see if the offer comes in.”
Have you heard Chinese Democracy and what do you think of it?
“I’ve only heard the single that’s on the MySpace [Chinese Democracy]. The song is good but Axl should have changed the vocals round: he should have put his high octave voice over the low vocals, not the other way round. I think that would have made the song more exciting to have that lead line on top.”
“Having been on tour with them and having heard some of the new material live, out of the Metallica album, the new AC/DC album and the Gn’R album I think Gn’R are going to win it. And I’m a huge Metallica freak!”

Well let’s hope Tuck is right! Since Chinese Democracy has been in the works for 14 years it’s gotta be good! As for BFMV headlining Download ‘09, it would be pretty good i think, cos c’mon it’s better then some shitty emo band headlining imo…

The Alexandra Palace gig has sold out and its 7,250 if we’re getting picky. Bloody good effort i’d say. Not Download Headliner standard yet but one day it is an absolute certainty
Rammstein should headline if they finish thir no album in time. BFMV are good but compared to Rammstein they suck.
Rammstein lol whatever floats your boat man but no way are they worthy of headlining. im a big bullet fan seeing them tonight but they are no way ready for a headlineing situtation allthrough they have been better than most of the friday night headliners or in 2008’s case the sunday night headliner lol as for chinese democracy im a gnr freak have been from an early age i have 11 tracks out of the 14 and its fuckking awesome i wish i didnt have it i wanted it to be a major suprise but either way its going to be the best album iv ever heard

If you want a suggestion for Downlaod headliners then I reckon AC/DC, Guns n Roses (if they turn up) and Slipknot?

I saw slipknot on the 1st of dec and they sold out the gigs at hammersmith 3x and that adds up quite a bit so they should headline and they are [sic]
