Bullet For My Valentine Talk To Us About Their New Album

bfmv90Matt Tuck tells us about the Welsh metal titans brand new album and describes it as ‘mid-tempo AC/DC rock’!

After revealing earlier this week that Matt is of the opinion that Bullet For My Valentine could headline Download, we spoke to the frontman in more depth about the brand new Bullet For My Valentine album and he even went as far as to reveal a brand new song title to us!

In a recent interview you said that the songs have a twist, what’s that about?

Matt Tuck: “The vibe of the album is a heavy, hard rock album with metal influences, rather than a metal album with hard rock influences.”

Is the new song that you played at Sonisphere a good indication of how the new album will sound?
Check out that new track here!

Matt: “A little bit but the lyrics and the melody is 100% different to what you heard. The majority of the album is in that kind of vein, that kind of key, it’s not flashy, it’s like mid-tempo AC/DC rock, hard rock metal riffs and a great melody.”

Any favourite moments in the new songs?

Matt: “The song is the song as an entity, but there should always be one or two parts in a song where you’re like, ‘fuck that was cool!’ or you just want to bang your head and stick your fists in the air. There’s one song on there called ‘Alone’ – I’ll give you that, exclusive, ha ha – it has this one moment in the middle where it has this key change that turns it from this shreddy metal riff to like a dark demonic almost Scandinavian metal section – just from the key change. It’s pretty cool. It’s super dark, the darkest thing we’ve ever done.”

Bullet For My Valentine are expected to release their new, as-yet untitled album in the first half of 2010.
