The new album is surprisingly very good! Fair play to Vikernes for not betraying his black metal roots, unlike other Norwegian acts that shall remain nameless.
OK so he has questionable beliefs and is a bit of a tool but, like him or not, his music will remain among the classic black metal bands alongside Emperor, Mayhem, Enslaved, Gorgoroth etc.

on who created black metal, its origins come from venom, mercyful fate, hellhammer/celtic frost, sodom, mayhem, bathory etc. everything else has spawned from that. u can’t really pin it on one band

its a fantastic and varied genre of music (i really don’t care for debates about what is or isn’t ‘true’ black metal) and i’d personally recommend Drudkh for anyone wishing to explore further

but the new Burzum album Belus is excellent, be open minded about it
