Joel, im with you there dude. i love it when a band covers a song to a different style as the original.

Cradle of Filth – Hallowed be thy Name (classic metal to blackish metal)
Metallica – So What (punk to metal)
Children of Bodom – Ghost Riders in the Sky (country to metal)
Johnney Cash – Hurt (industrial to country)
Rodrigo y Gabriella – Orion (metal to Spannish Guitar duo)

covers are far more fun when the bands change shit to suit their own sound.

Where’s the fun in covering bands that sound closer to your sound?

Covering songs OUTSIDE the world or rock and metal is waht makes some covers so interesting!
Sometimes they’re great when interpreted in a metal style, sometimes they just get killed, but it’s worth the risk! XD

You want a band that covers it’s influences and wears them on it’s sleeve go listen to Hatebreed’s For The Lions covers album instead!

Looks like they’re adding only a few new covers to the list of shitty covers they’ve already wasted precious studio time on. They could’ve done some cooler tracks. They should’ve done some Morbid Angel, maybe some Death, Venom would’ve been coool since they stole the album title from them. Skid Row would’ve been cooler than fucking poison. You know, shit that is more relevant to their sound. And they should drop the pop bullshit altogether!
