Chino Moreno Offers Chi Cheng Coma Update
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno has offered an update on the state of bassist Chi Cheng who is still in a coma as the result of a serious car crash earlier this week.
Speaking on his blog, Moreno has said: “I am back from up north visiting our brother Cheng. His condition remains the same – serious but stable.”
“We, along with the entire Cheng family, would like to extend our gratitude to everyone that’s said a prayer or sent out their positive thoughts to Chi. Your support means more than you know.”
“During his recovery process, Chi’s mother has asked that each day we spread a little bit of good in his name. So each day Deftones will be posting what you can do to help Chi recover. Today she has asked that you all remember to buckle your seat belts and remind those you love to buckle up. By doing something so little in his name, you will be helping him find the strength to recover.”

Are there any new updates on Chi, since the 6th? There are several of us here in the Twin Cities that know him and are keeping him in their prayers and sending healing energies to him. Please let us know if he has improved or if there has been any signs of movement. Blessings All.
As a Deftones fan, this is upsetting. I’ve been so amped for their latest record and then something happens to Chi. I hope his recovery is well and the Deftones can get back to work as soon as possible. But, until then, get well Chi!

The latest information online by Jeanne Cheng sounds very encouraging. Jeanne, if you remember me (Jerry’s mom) from when you lived in VP and from one mother to another, I think about you constantly during this time and I am praying for Chi you, Dr. Cheng, Ming and all the family.
