i’m a metal fan through and through so i used to like reading kerrang,metal hammer and such like and also watching channels like kerrang and scuzz .my point is us metalheads hate emo because the emo bands are destroying music .now i can’t read any rock based magazines or watch any rock based tv channels because every second article/music video is …..well…emo .Has no one noticed that emo music is just generic garbage there is no individuality all these emo bands are indistinguishable from one another .and with bands like bullet for my valentine around these days its proof that emo is infecting decent music as they have some metal showing through but with a shit name and shit vocals i can’t take them seriously .

Why are we worried about hypocrisy, when we should be worried about metalheads, arguing against metalheads on whether or not “_____” is real metal or not? What we all need to do is highten our sense of brotherhood. Not to make it seems like a cult or something like that, but honestly, brotherhood is what pulled metal through the eighties. We all knew each other, and we all loved each other. Without that, punk would’ve kicked our asses by now. It’s just that, we’re better than that. Today, though, I don’t see too much of that, which saddens me. When I’m walking through public places and I happen to see someone with a metal band’s t-shirt on, I walk over to ‘em and give ‘em a fist pound, compliment his shirt, and then walk away. Why don’t I see that anymore? I know I’m not the only one that does that!

I’ve got to say, as a Metalhead, I dislike Emo music. Plain and simple. However, just because I don’t like Emo music does not mean that I hate all Emo’s. In truth, I’d say I dislike the subculture itself, but not the individuals within it.
I can’t say I have any Emo friends, but I have worked with 2 Emo’s in 2 different workplaces. Because of that, the needing to cooperate with each other, I talked to them and aside from the musical tastes/clothing etc, we seemed to get along fine.
Sure, I sometimes throw the odd Emo joke around, but in all honesty, I’m the kind of person who can listen to and shrug off or even laugh at jokes about Metalheads too.
I think a lot of it aswell has to do with the fact that Metalheads who really despise Emo music kept on seeing these kind of bands on their music video channels, in their Rock and Metal magazines and at the festivals they attend – Download festival for example does seem to be gathering more “softer”/”poppy” music than the average Metalhead seems to enjoy. And I think it annoys the crap out of a lot of them.
Individuality is something attributed to every subculture, and while Metalheads and Punks seemed to put their differences aside in the 80’s, it’s still in a sense a kind of tribal attitude.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, it’s individual personalities. You’re bound to have Metalheads who don’t like people of a certain subculture, and vice versa. Whether it’s just the music, the fashion, or the people themselves. It’s always been there and I don’t know if it will ever go. Personally, if someone treats me with respect, I’ll treat them with respect. Simple as
