Corey Taylor On Slipknot Continuing: “Right Now, It Just Doesn’t Make Sense”

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor says he won’t be making any immediate decisions or statements about the future of Slipknot.

Corey Taylor said: “It’s kind of a grey area right now. Everybody is still feeling it. It’s too soon to tell.

“I’m very conflicted about whether or not I want to do anything with Slipknot, because to me, Paul was such an integral part of the band. He was the whole reason that the band was the way it was… Paul was the glue and the orchestrator behind some of the best music we ever wrote. He was the soul of the band.

“I don’t want to make any statements that I’ll look like a fool in retrospect, but to me, right now, it just doesn’t make sense,” Taylor says. “Until it does, that’s the way it stays for me. That’s why I’ve been saying it’s too soon to tell… you never know.”

although its bad news for slipknot fans i agree with corey in a way, but it would be a shame to see such a big band call it a day
much respect to the guy

Corey is talking shit though, Paul wasnt the soul and saviour of the band, If paul hadent died people like corey wouldnt have said that stuff :P
Like fans also, by saying he was best bassist and shit, They wouldnt have bothered with paul if he hadent died D:
People need to get a grip and start living life easily
Everyone dies.
Also paul took drugs so no complaining that his death was so bad, He basically injected death into him
Sorry to say, BUT DOES ANYONE AGREE

As much as I hate to say it, it’s a depressing and all too real fact that Slipknot have a very high chance of splitting up. I personally can’t see there being another Slipknot record or even tour.

I do Vinnie. Besides, Evile’s Bassist died, and look at them, they soldiered right on through it.

Maybe after the Stone Sour new album release and tour, then it will be the time to decide. There wouldn’t be anything from Slipknot as a band for at least 12 months even if Paul hadn’t passed away. I agree totally with Dylan, Life goes on and so must Slipknot. \m/

wow a couple jumpin the gun here if you read it a liltle closer corey says nothing is 100% there is no saying that he or slipknot will or will not countine . plus i know joey on the mayhem usa tour when he was drumming for rob zombie over the summer did say there would be a slipknot record around 2012 . we shall see . the bottom line right now is today stone sour new album came out .plus in the last 2 weeks murderdolls have had a new album both of these bands hit the uk in the next few months so lets enjoy the music they have put out and the tours . slipknot has and allways will hold a special place in music . and who knows they may come back with the remmaing 8 members we see . on the comment of
vinnie yes you make some good points .truth is paul gray was one of the founding farthers of slipknot . plus the big example i can give of a major band countine on after a bass player is metallica when cliff was tragical killed . truth is i feel metallica lost something when cliff died .every band member plays a part in bands weather your the lead singer or the key board player and i have allways felt it one of the messages slipknot put out from day one with 9 memebers so yes pauld may or may not have injected death into his body witch ever you look at the one. the truth is dont forget the part he played

i agree with the above. they might not wanna do it right now but Paul was never a major part of the band song writing wise, that always came down to Shaun.

i imagine that it might be a good 4/5 years before another album and i wouldnt be surprised if it was an aggressive release so they could vent their anger and despair. i cant see the band ending unless they all decide their is no point.

paul was a major part of the song writing, or to me at least, he wrote Dead Memories, my favourite Slipknot song :D

I don’t think Slipknot will end, other bands have continued after losing a much loved member, Metallica, and Evile for example… But all the remaining members will have to want to continue because I believe if just one doesn’t want to return then the rest will just crumble or in a worst case scenario make do with a stripped down version of Slipknot which wont be the same.

I hope they don’t leave it too long though

every one of these messages makes sense. but guys just think, would paul want slipknot to go on without him? yes. he certainly would, and i understand that corey or some other members may be feeling a bit uncertain at the moment, they all know paul would want them to go on, so i say, take a break, wait a few years, but do come back, and come back better then ever, may the spirit of paul live on in your next record so make it a hell of a good record. even if there wont be another record, ill always stay Sic.

All he has to do is say ” its too soon” and the speculation keeps both slipknot( who have a dvd to sell) and stone sour( who have a cd to sell) in the limelight. It really is just wait and see.

Slipknot should have disbanded ten years ago. Awful tripe.
