Corey Taylor Speaks On Download Performance
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has spoken out about the band’s now-legendary headline performance from this year’s Download performance.
Speaking on the Radio 1 Rock Show, Taylor said: “I’m still trying to find out what that was! It was tremendous, it was incredible, it was everything that I hoped it would be. Just the fact that people are still talking about it is a testimony to where we’re at.”
“The minute that I stepped onstage, I was anxious for about 35 seconds,” he continued. “I was kind of losing my mind until I looked down in the front row and these kids had a sign made that said “finally, Slipknot headlining Download” and I was like “this is it!”
“Your mind wanders to both sides of the equation. You’re either Maiden, where people have been waiting all day or you’re My Chem (My Chemical Romance), where people are like “why are you headlining this stage?” and you get pelted with bottles!”
