Cradle Of Filth – Yet More Outrage!
The merchandise-obsessed six-piece are to launch a brand new promotional T-shirt. It will apparently feature Louise Robey, the Countess Of Burford, “in her full fleshy glory.” The band recently met Robey at their Suffolk-based rehearsal studios and in the light of her very public announcements in the national press regarding the break-up of her marriage to the Earl Of Burford – can you believe the claimed the split was due to the pressure of fitting into an aristocratic life?! – the former singer and actress was persuaded to appear topless. And the accompanying slogan? What else but ‘Up Your Regina’?!
The Filth were in the headlines once again recently when the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Alex Mosson, condemned their ‘Jesus…’ T-shirt as sick and offensive, and demanded it be removed from sale in Record Stores. The case is pending.
The band also feature in the controversial movie Cradle Of Fear, which is due to be released at the end of February via the website www.cradleoffear.com. The internet-only release is due to the violent nature of the movie, which was produced by Alex Chandon (Bad Karma, Drillbit and Pervirella) is not deemed suitable for a certificate in the UK.
