megadeth90Megadeth frontman pours a little cold water on those ‘big four’ tour rumours.

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has spoken out about the ‘big four’ tour rumours and admits that at the current stage, it seems unlikely.

Mustaine told Australia’s The Metal Forge: “It’s just a rumour. If it was true, I would be saying something. This is a Megadeth interview and it’s kinda funny that right during the middle of a new release that Metallica is back in my interview. So, I’ll just answer this and say it’s just a rumor. If it happened, it would be nice. I would tell you if it were happening. It’s not happening. If it does happen, I’ll be sure and tell you.”

He also spoke out about his excitement for Megadeth’s incredible new album, ‘Endgame’: “You know, it’s very rarely that a record comes around like ‘Endgame’ does, and I’m so blessed to have it be mine. I remember that there were records when we were growing up, like ‘The Wall’. You had to have ‘The Wall’ and like, AC/DC’s ‘Let There Be Rock’. You had to have that record. Then, as soon as Bon died, you had to have ‘Back In Black’. If you didn’t have ‘Back In Black’, you were not a metal fan.”

“Anyone that has this record is going to be experiencing the same kind of exciting metal that we experienced back when ‘Peace Sells’ came out, when ‘Rust In Peace’ came out, when ‘Countdown’ came out. I was there. I know what happened. I didn’t have that same feeling that I have with this record on ‘United Abominations’ (2007) or any record subsequent to ‘Cryptic Writings’ . ‘Cryptic Writings’ was the last time I had a really good feeling about a record coming out.”

“The good thing is that every once in a while you have someone like me comes along that can kind of have a little bit of fun with life and that makes people feel good. I’m glad that ‘Endgame’ is one of those records that makes people feel good. I’m excited beyond belief that people are responding to us.”

I’m looking forward to a day without a “Dave Mustaine says…….” article.

One can only dream though, right?

leechmaster_666

True dat Bee_Gee!

To be honest a tour of Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Testament would be a million times better than cry baby Mustaine! Make that big four tour happen guys!

Michael

I like Testament but compared to Megadeth? No way, no where near as good. Albeit Dave is the only original member, still an awesome band, Dave is very talented.

mustaine can not be more arrogant. Also, Endgame = most overrated metal album this decade, it’s average, no melody, no harmony, just guitar wankery, throw in 3 solos even if they do not fit the song? Sorry, not that good.

Dion is obviously ignorant to the fact that dave mustaine is an extremely talented artist and to the fact that endgame is a really good album, 8/10

Yes, Endgame is a good album. But seriously, how fucking big headed is Mustaine? Comparing it to Let There Be Rock AND Back In Black is a disgrace. It’s not that fucking good! Have to agree with leechmaster, if Mustaine’s not interested I’d rather see Testament!

If we’re talking about replacing Megadeth with another big band from back in the day, what about Exodus! A very important but highly under-rated band in my humble opinion.

AussieMetalHead

Big 6 Maybe?

Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Machine Head?

So who cares…the big four..it would be good..big headed..aren’t they all? Why not just enjoy the music..if you don’t like it, don’t listen..simple…likewise with Megadeth v Mettalica..they are only people in a band with an opinion..something we all face at some point in life…appreciate the music whatever you like

Well its just a rumor then.

Megadeth have released the best album out of the big four in years, to be honest death magnetic wasmt that amazing and christ illusion was pretty sick but not fully there.

Haha, whats up with that polling thing, the endgame vs death magnetic, i voted endgame last week and endgame was 84% and death magnetic 16% with about 30000 voters.

i voted again and its now nearly a million voters and tallica are in the lead xD with 58%, i think some people are in some serious denial. if you think death magnetic (great title) is better than endgame then either you have no ears or just a douche who keeps voting over and over again because metal hammer has never had more than a couple of thousand people voting on their polls. So yeah, nice one

sould be slayer anthrax megadeth and exodus metalica dint stay thrash like the other 3 did the went and did the black albem it went down hill for them there

metalica dont deserve to be on a big 4 tour let alone headline it like they sugested there wouldent even be a question about it in a erlyer artical

the bottem line is metalica might be the better metal band but megadeth are the better thrash metal band

to say metallica shouldnt be involved in the big 4 tour is crazy. There the best, most influential thrash band in history, plus i’ve seen megadeth, slayer and testament live and they’re seriously awesome but none of them even touch metallica live, metallica blow u away with their live performances. Endgame’s an awesome album and the axework cant be touched by any other guitarist out there right now, but death magnetics a better album as a whole, the way they bring their new material into their live sets prove that! Megadeth should definately be in the big 4 tour but metallica have 2 headline it, no one touches them live, fact.

lukeeee

if ther is a god, please let this tour happennn!!!

So Ollie, cause peopel do not think endgame is that good they are in denial? Are you 2? Your opinion is not the only one, geta life. I think endgam ws OK, it is standard one dimensional thrash, Death magnetic was a lot more diverse and betetr IMO. Metallica were never a true thrash band outside KILL em all, it is too one dimensional for a band like tallica.

It is onviosu metallica would and should be headliners, anyone saying otherwise needs there head out of their arse. like them or not, metallica are by far the biggest and most influencial out of them all.
