Defenders Of The Faith II – Birmingham Review!

Everyone was happier with the size of the stage last night and the crowd were well into Five Finger Death Punch. 2 songs in and there was a huge, self-initiated circle pit. Seems I’m not the only one who gets them, all the metal heads in Birmingham do too.
Unearth were in good spirits pre show and delivered a tight energetic and solid set. Dimmu onstage are a bleak, blackened contrast to the jazz hands larking about we were privvy to in a photoshoot earlier. Is it just me or does everyone else expect black metal bands to be serious all the time?
Lamb Of God were honoured to play the birth place of heavy metal – home of ‘Sabbath, ‘Priest and Napalm Death (some of Napalm were even present last night). One of the biggest appeals about this band is what you see is what you get – there are no gimmicks, no theatrics, no bullshit. Just pure American metal.
Check out our review of the Bristol show, Lamb Of God’s Bristol set-list as well as our guide to everything you need to know about this year’s Defenders Of The Faith.
