Deftones Frontman Promises New Album Will Be One Of The Band’s Best

We think that the Deftones have been one of the most consistently killer bands in modern music. Just about everything that they’ve put their name upon has ruled. So when Chino says that the band are about to unleash one of their best albums, it’s definitely made our ears prick up and our heartbeat quicken.
Speaking to Spin magazine, Chino says: “The dynamics Deftones are known for — aggressive overtones and lush openness. They’re on opposite sides of the spectrum, but we meld them together without sounding contrived. There are a few heavy songs, too, like our first couple records, and there are also experimental tunes — but there’s not a minute on this record that feels like it doesn’t need to be there. Each sound complements the other. I’ll straight-up say it: it’s definitely one of our best albums.”
The as-yet untitled album is expected to surface in April.

hmm the last album was shite and the self titled was patchy. i know bands like to progress but i preferred deftones when they played raw stuff like adrenaline and around the fur. my expectations aren’t high for the new album to be honest

Deftones self titled was immense (one of my favourite albums of all time) and saturday night wrist was a great album. After seeing them at the Forum I don’t doubt for a second that the new album is going to kick our collective arses!
@ DD, your talking outta your arse. the last album was perfect and their best since White Pony. i cant wait for the new album although i was hoping that Chino would get Team Sleep up and running again this year.
actually im not talking out my arse, im offering an opinion u fuckwit. i didnt like the last album, full stop. Beware was the only track i liked. i also thought white pony was overrated, as i stated before i much preferred their earlier work, they were better as a metal band

the only deftones album i dislike is adrenaline… i think white pony was overrated but still ok. loving everything else tho
the band have been alot more interesting since white pony (overrated – methinks not!), seeing as they moved away from the frat-boy numetal seen which they kind of got bundled into, even though they were always so much more. lets hope the original eros material surfaces at some point. would be interesting to see what the album would have been like.

White pony was a fucking awesome album, the self titled follow up was just genius, yes i love their earlier stuff however DEFTONES are a band you love because they keep evolving no two deftones albums sound the same thats why i love this band.
How the fuck can anyone say WHITE PONY was overated, thats just batshit crazy talk.
