DevilDriver Already Working On New Album!
We literally just spoke to Dez Fafara of DevilDriver and he told us the band are already working on a new album!
Dez tells Hammer that there is a new album in the pipeline and will be out around October next year!
“We’re definitely stepping it up. Most bands have five or six years before they even get signed, so they have that time to hone their sound and we only had six months! We’ve been together six or seven years so that’s why you’re getting this fourth record. If you’re prolific then bring it. For some bands you’re waiting like three or four years for the next album and that’s not fair on the fans, and we’re not that band, we want to be prolific.”
“We’ve got way faster tunes, way heavier tunes. We’re finding ourselves with this next record. Really we’ve been finding ourselves on every record. From the first record to the new one you can hear the progression, take the journey. Which I think is cool.”
And what about the anthems on the latest album? Will you be carrying that forward?
“We don’t yet. I’m just starting to write vocals, but it’s gonna be big: big hooks, big choruses, but it’s heavier as well and has loads of technical stuff on their too. We never set our sights on something specific, it just happens.”
“The feeling these guys have is that they want to crush so they’re gonna write an album that crushes!”

Saw the headline and nearly crapped myself- I thought it was gonna be bad news after the last few weeks-and I’ve got tix for tomorrow-really looking forward to it!!!!!!! And i’ve got a nasty cold so apologies in advance if anyone gets infected but i’m still going and they better not pull out of Hammerfest II neither.
well if the creative juices are flowing then why not, especially after the quality of their other albums. sabbath, thin lizzy, kiss, maiden, motorhead all knocked out albums on a regular basis back in the day, its about time a modern great started doing this too!
Holy Mother! I can’t wait till it comes out! Hope it will be brutal as their other albums!

shouldnt be news… i know if i was in a band and my full income was from it i wouldnt take breaks, every day id think about the music and what i could do. maybe not sit down and just do that but still. its still writing..
i saw them on saturday in london….fucking superb..should be playing much bigger venues and they are certainly as good as machine head / lamb of god if not better.
They certainly waste no fucking time do they?
