Dez: “Nobody Could Ever Touch Pantera…But We’re Ready!”
DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara has every right to be supremely confident of the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Pray For Villains’.
“Nobody could ever touch Pantera and we’re not trying to,” Fafara says in the latest issue of Metal Hammer. “But people are saying that we’re ready for that slot and I think we’re ready for that slot and I think we’re ready with this record and the amount of touring that we’ve been doing. I’d be hard pressed not to think so, but I say that with the most humble attitude.”

I agree with Dez. I’ve been saying that this is the band to watch for years now, and to anyone who would listen….forget LOG…over-rated. These guys are the real deal.

I haven’t listened to any of it yet but it seems like this album’s getting a bit too much hype. They’re nothing special, imo.
Devildriver are so bloody overhyped and one dimensional. And for the record Rob, Pantera are not overrated.

Hey, Let’s face it, bands like these suck. I’m not doubting that they are bad musicians, but come on, they are pretty one dimensional. They are hardly creating classic albums, that in years to come we will go back to and still like, or regard. And Lyrically it’s pretty ‘Loco’…. see what i did there
