Phil Anselmo has made an onstage appearance for the first time since the death of Dimebag Darrell. He filled in on guitar for Eyehategod at the infamous CBGB club in New York. Before the performance, Anselmo took the mic and dedicated the performance to his ‘brother, Dimebag Darrell’.
According to one audience member, Phil looked to be “healthy, upbeat, and in a great mood…he was mingling with the crowd and was very outgoing. It was a historic show”.
This seems to confirm previous rumblings that Anselmo is ready to enter the music fray once more. Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod, Down) recently said that “everybody’s expressed interest in wanting to do another Down record, so that’s basically all it takes…people are doing cool things with their lives; cool, positive things. Let’s save metal!”
