Down Working On New Material
Down and former Pantera bassist Rex Brown has been speaking out about how the band have been writing for their fourth album on the road and are planning a very special DVD release.
Talking to Billboard, Rex Brown has said that, in addition to having an abundance of material left over from Down’s ‘III: Over The Under’ sessions: “(we’ve been) writing constantly on the road. We still have all these ideas, and we play a lot of new stuff at sound check, just to feel it out. Hopefully we can get back in the studio in the fall and work on something.”
In other Down news, the band are compiling video material for a DVD release that will chronicle the band getting back together in 2006 as well as a wealth of live and behind-the-scenes footage. “It’s kind of about us learning how to walk together again,” said Brown. “It just chronicles the life on the road of us starting to play again. We’re right in the middle of it now.”
Down have recently been supporting Metallica in the States and are yet to announce any plans for 2009.
