AC/CD Review Download 2010!
The hype generated by something as underpant-soiling a prospect as Acca Dacca rolling into town to play their first UK festival since their legendary set on this very ground 19 years ago could mean that the 6-storey high expectations could set us up for a fall. Could it bollocks, this is AC/DC, this is the spiritual home of metal and tonight’s set cements that Johnno and the lads are still the greatest rock n’ roll band in the world today.
It does take them a tiny while to get going though. As incredible a tune as Rock N’ Roll Train is, it’s not quite big enough to suit the occasion but after a short while, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap kicks things off with amazing precision and from that moment until the final strains of For Those About To Rock, ‘DC are on fire.
You can’t miss when you can throw out High Voltage, Shoot To Thrill, The Jack, Whole Lotta Rosie and a truly unforgettable Highway To Hell like it’s no sweat. Delivered with a level of passion that credits a band at this stage of their career and with the biggest shit-eating grin that you’ll see all weekend plastered all over theĀ face of Brian Johnson as he bids Download farewell, AC/DC came, saw and conquered and then some.
