Download Days & Stages Revealed?
Having a little look around the Download official site, we’ve noticed that they might well have given away who this year’s 2nd stage headliners are. There’s also a hint at what days you can expect certain bands to be playing on.
Regard exhibit A:
Obviously, we love a bit of speculation around these parts. We’ve already made our own conclusions that Alexisonfire are going to be part of this year’s bill today but this poster posted on Download’s official website has us stroking our chin even more.
Take a look at the latest Download poster above. It would seem to suggest that the Friday will feature Faith No More headlining the main stage with Korn directly beneath them and Limp Bizkit also part of the main stage proceedings. Saturday could see Slipknot headlining, Marilyn Manson 2nd on the bill and Pendulum 3rd. Classic rock Sunday? Def Leppard and Whitesnake we already knew but ZZ top could be on directly before those two.
Now, check out our incredibly high-tech circling (cheers Gill!). Could this mean that Motley Crue, The Prodigy and Trivium are this year’s 2nd stage headliners on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively? Perhaps, perhaps not.
We just thought we’d give you half of the thoughts that we have been having at Metal Hammer HQ today.
Download will take place on June 12th – 14th at Donington and will feature sets from Faith No More, Slipknot, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, The Prodigy, Limp Bizkit, Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, Korn, ZZ Top, Down, Journey and many, many more.

Motley Crue and the Prodigy on the Second stage again you are having a F**King laugh, what the hell are the organisers thinking, we all remember trying to get into see them last time and as for Pedulum on the main stage!!!

I seriously hope Chelmsford’s finest are on at the same time as the ‘Knot as I’d much rather see The Prodigy!
And Trivium headlining the second stage 1. means the best band on the bill gets a longer set and 2. I can avoid the woeful Lepp by ending the festival in style!

this has been bugging me for a few days so i would like to be reassured/put out my misery wether this is gonna happen or not
both bands kinda appeal to the same generation of rocks fans so would be silly putting em on at same time

Did you really think ZZ top would come back to the UK and not play mainstage that high up?? cmon metal hammer
Remember, there’s still a lot more to come in terms of bands, so don’t count on it, but some of them look set in stone.
Especially since Trivium ARE confirmed for the Sunday.
This has been killing me all week, they just CAN NOT have Crue and FNM on at the same time!! Surely it would make more sense to move Korn over to the 2nd stage and the have Crue followed by FNM on the main?? Although i am sure they only signed Crue as long as they headline a stage…
Both Korn and Crue have headlined the 2nd stage in previous years, how the F&*K does it work out that Korn are on the main and Crue on the 2nd???
But at least we get 5FDP on the Friday too, looking like what could be a stella line-up!!

wtf, you cant have prodigy and slipknot on at the same time i will be torn in half. then i might turn in to a zombie, and it will be absolute chaos. damn you download if you do this!

On the Download website, it says that Trivium will be appearing on the main stage, so I don’t think Motley Crue, The Prodigy and Trivium are in order of who is headlining the second stage by day.
Pendulum on the main satage!!!? What the shit is that about!!? They are, without a shadow of a doubt. the worse band in the feckin’ world!

Its the one bad thing bout having a tonne of ace bands at festivals, makes it hard to pick and choose! Hahaha. Just gona keep my eyes peeled to the hammer/download websites to see what the stage times will be…
actualy…reading the download band section it says
“Download favourites Trivium are back to rock the MAIN STAGE yet again with a brand new selection of songs from new album Shogun, which went straight into the UK Top 20 upon release last September”

I noticed this earlier this week and posted it on the forums and the same reaction occured. It would simply be foolish of LN to put the Crue and FNM on at the same time. I can understand the other 2, Prodigy an alternative to Slipknot and Trivium apposed to classic rock sunday, but the friday one will be disasterous!
Marilyn Manson before Slipknot, when there are hellabetter bands like Killswitch, Down and DevilDriver, who hvnt evn been assigned to specific days yet!! ‘the hell is goin on here?!
Dream Theater at download? hope theyre touring the UK as I would much rather go that than see them do a shorter set and playing with trivium. FnM would be amazing though…
Dream Theater are doing two warm-up gigs before their Download appearance, one in Leeds, one in Southampton. Around £30 each.
