Download Festival To Announce Bands On Monday!
Download will announce their first wave of bands this coming Monday!
The following announcement has been made on the official Download site:
“On Monday evening we’ll be announcing the first set of bands confirmed to play this year’s Download Festival.”
“At the same time, we’ll announce ticket details for the Festival, including information about presales, pricing and availability.”
“If you want to be the first to know about all of this, make sure you are connected to Download, either by becoming a fan on our Facebook Fan Page or following us on our Twitter.”
“Sign up to one or both of these and you’ll be the first to discover the first batch of incredible bands we’ve got lined up for you to play Download in June.”
“You can also join in the debate with our sprawling community on the Download Forums, where you’ll find endless threads about wishlists, rumours, Download chat, off-topic discussions and plenty more – click here to go there now.”
“We know that you’re desperate to know who is confirmed on this year’s line-up, and we thank you all for your patience – we assure you, it will have been worth the wait.”
As well as the now infamous AC/DC leak, we also recently included a batch of bands we think may be part of this year’s Download line-up.
We’ll be sure to bring you this announcement on Monday evening!

FFS, its not as if there’s gonna be a fireworks display, or are waiting for some more bands to be gathered for the announcement, why not just get it over and done with like Sonsiphere did?

@Jingee, totally agree with you, think I’ve ranted about every single download “annoucement” for the 2010 festival.
so far they have had 4 annoucements about this, it’s a fucking joke. as you said, what they expecting, fireworks… If anything, all these annoucements have done is let them build their own anti-climax.. fucking idiots!
I presonally couldn’t care who is the headliners are now, just wish they’d get on with it.
It would be pretty hilarious if after all the hype and speculation, AC/DC turn out not to be playing at all. If that’s the case, DL this year will probably fall flat on it’s face.
just say the fuckin bands, i dont overly care, not much they can do to beat sonisphere anyway.
You guys are all such haters. Download is still the daddy, and when you’re at the top, people are always going to try to take you down. It seems to be trendy to hate on Download these days.
There are a lot of good bands at Sonisphere this year but there is a hell of a lot of filler too, and unlike Download, you don’t have an option in what you want to watch. Sonisphere Sunday so far looks like Maiden and Anthrax and a load of shit.
AC/DC, Metallica, BFMV, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, Steel Panther will be it I reckon

i cant wait for this. the big day comes and all the hype on the forums will be buzzing and then they announce the headliners…..My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Lethal Bizzle……and then i get to gloat over all the little download monkey chavs who have spent what little money they earnt from whoring themselves out on a ticket to the worst festival of the year. ha fucking ha ha.
Download needs to grow some balls and be a metal festival again. its lost so much respect since it changed to download.
Bloodstock is gonna be the best festival of the year by miles in terms of quality and affordability.
Bloody hell you lot are impatient. They always announce it around this time. Why should they announce it earlier just because Sonisphere do?
Also, how the fuck has Download ’sold out’? Are you all crying because its not metulzzz enough? 2009 had plenty of metal bands – enough for me, anyway. Any more and I wouldn’t have been able to see them because I’d have been too damn tired

I got a Download ticket for Xmas and i bought a Sonisphere ticket using money i worked for.

well it’s about fuckin’ time that they start announcing some bands.
and as long as Lamb of God &/or Machine Head, Children of Bodom are there, i’m going to be very happy.
i think its metallica cause it says r.i.p tickets on the site. could be reference to death magentic ? just a thought.
yeah cause download do the rest in peace (rip) tent tickets but i mean metallica have done donnington 3 times before i think so its really not a big deal them headlining

Luke, Download has NEVER been a metal festival. It’s predecessor was Monsters of ROCK. Bit of a hint there mate.
Download has always been a rock festival, first and foremost, whilst also showcasing metal and alternative bands. That’s why MCR, The Prodigy and Lehtal Bizzle have played in the past. If you want a proper metal festival, you want Bloodstock.
Anyway, Im agreeing with the others – announce the bands already. As Im going to Sonisphere, I wanna see what Andy Copping has planned to try and challenge the lineup at Knebworth.
AC/DC, Soundgarden, Killing Joke, Metallica, Them Crooked Vultures, Megadeth, Van Halen.
