SOAD would be fucking amazing, and I’d be more than happy for them to play, but I doubt it would blow minds as much as this guy is saying. A SOAD reunion wouldn’t really shock anyone, because we all thought and were hoping it would happen. The way he’s saying it makes it sound like something like Led Zeppelin, original Guns N’ Roses, or something entirely different. After all, he said it’s a band we’d never expect, so we’ll have to wait and see.

System of a Down are most likely playing Sonisphere (based on the flyer Stargreen accidentally released the other day, as reported by Metal hammer).

Led Zep would be the kind of news it sounds like, Soundgarden are due for a come back as well (as well as a kick up the arse for Chris Cornell that is).

Download need to get TOOL to headline, that would beat the shit out of anything Sonisphere could pull. (Massive respect for Sonisphere for really upping their game this year!)

What about At The Drive-in? Really doubt that could happen, but that would be a massive news story.

A SOAD reform would not only NOT shcok me at all, but would positively bore me, probably into the vicinity of knebworth. GNR original line up….won’t happen, but is the only thing i can think of that can live up to this bullshit hype.

It won’t be Soundgarden unless Pearl Jam has another drummer up their sleeves as Pearl Jam’s current drummer is Soundgarden’s ex-drummer and Pearl Jam have tour dates for the end of June onwards. It’s not really mind-blowing if it is Pearl Jam, it’s not like they’ve broken up or haven’t been here in a while or anything. Plus they’re doing Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park a couple of weeks later.

I really hope it’s not a pantera renunion with zak wilde as he is a complete bellend and doesn’t deserve to be any where near Dimebags spot on the stage.

The way to approach this (if the huge huge news story can be believed ) is it has to be outside of the norm, i.e. a G’n'R reformition of original members wouldn’t warrant such a headline neither would SOAD be considered in that catergory. The only band that would fall into this catergory would be Led Zeppelin, but I think this is highly unlikely (although it would be awesome). I think it may be a ‘huge’ short so with that in mind I would have to consider a Soundgarden reformation (there are rumours that this is about to take place). As to the ones that may shock people. I would suggest Rush. They normally don’t play festivals, but they did play a festival in Rio, and were said to have enjoyed the experience. So they could be a possibility.

The only thing that would be worth this much hype would be Led Zeppelin, Manowar, Soundgarden and AC/DC but who would be sunday AC/DC or zep, whatever it is it’ll b a major let down not worth this hype. and Download has become a massive pile of wank now anyway. Bloodstock is more exciting this year as they at least try and book bands who havent played for a while or ever before.

Shit or get off the pot Copping. I’ve already forked out nigh on £500 for Sonisphere tickets and accommodation, so you are going to have to come up with something particularly impressive to get folk like me to go to your festival. Pink Floyd might just about do it, but nothing else I’ve seen mentioned on this page even comes close to Rammstein AND Iron Maiden AND Alice Cooper AND The Stooges. And its not just Sonisphere you’re up against either. Its just as easy for lots of us to get to festivals in Europe as it is to haul our arses to the Midlands. Put up or shut up.

Everyone is on about Maiden/ talica/ AC/DC, yeah it could be and that would be great! Bbut every year the line up gets more and more shit (in general)

erm i agree with ezz . the line up has ggot shiter . last year . 05 was proble the last great line up with black sabbath and saystem of a down or yer feeder headline . erm . it it’s ok saying we gonna blow people mind 1 slight probelm has any 1 see donnington it ’s a fucking mess cos of this f1 bull shit . plus i have heard the bloke who own’s donnington is going bankrupt . but i belive they would and could move download . also belive u cant beat sonisphere at the min they are on top . the only headliners that could top it would be metallica . ozzy . and ac dc but i cant see it . we just have to wait and see . plus the tickets are going up by a tenner . thats only if you wanna camp 4 5 days . unstead of 3 days

it’ll be the big four! bet it. Tallica headlined the sonisphere last year! they’ve not played download since 06, megadeth announced the last time they played download that they’d be back in 2010.

gnr are on tour in asia at the moment, it looks unlikely that they split and reform the original lineup within months. plus slash got an album coming out in spring, and he will tour as a solo.

i think they are gonna get (or attempt to get) the biggest bands they have had playing there over the past 30 years, most possibly AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Rush, Metallica, a guns n roses original line up or posibally anyone thats played monsters of rock megadeth i could see playing but possibally not headlining because download have had them before a few times n they werent headlining there so meh, im not too sure about a system reunion unless it was just this one show because shavo is still working on his rap group, i think they are just finishing off their album. and rage against the machine could be quite possible and they let anyone in for thir set for the free gig cause they got the christmas number one.
