Sorry about the caps. Download is a ROCK festival, yes you get metal, but it is not a pure metal festival, oh wow Downloads going “Mainstream”, so is the entire metal/rock industry!

I’ll agree some of the bands there aint so great (Paramore mainly) but Download caters for everyone, not just teh metulz!

Motorhead is cool. The rest of the lineup is underwhelming.

I am not hating on Download, but I am not impressed by any of those bands except maybe AC/DC and Aerosmith… and Megadeth. Currently I am going to go Sonishpere and decide later about Download (after they announce some more bands). and Myabe Reading if the rumours are true.

This is Metal Hammer therefore there’s obviously alot of people who want nothing but metal because they only have one track minds although secretly they jump about to Limp Bizkit break stuff everytime they hear it and sing along to bon jovi and def leppard aswell and u know its true. Download and Sonisphere are not metal festivals they are rock festivals so everyone with a one track mind for metal fuck off to BOA and quit bitching. Every person who has said there not impressed by Download having AC/DC as headliners need there fucking heads checked because there fucking amazing. I’m a Rammstein fan far more than i am an AC/DC fan but AC/DC are still a much bigger and better band and Rammsteins love of pyrotechnics doesnt change the fact AC/DC are superior and i would rather see them live.

Personally i couldn’t give a shit about megadeth, five finger whats it, parawho?, and whatever new shite new bands are out with a singer that sounds like the cookie monster. Give me AC/DC, Van halen, Aerosmith etc I’m a happy man. Count yourselves lucky if it wasn’t for these classic bands and the blues then you cunts wouldn’t have the pish you listen to these days.

Luke (x) what the hell are you talking about? There was no download 10 years ago. There wasn’t even Ozzfest in 2000 or 1999. Download begun in 2003. I fucking went. And ozzfest 2001 and 2002. But i agree with you on the emo rubbish. Last year was a great one. It seems download is not capable of having 2 good years in a row. Im off to sonisphere. Fear Factory anyone?

@ KEv, i know there wasnt. im talking about when Monsters of Rock was there at Donnington. they would put on a good show even with a variety of rock/metal bands. the last couple of years of Download have been just whats popular and what the little emo-teenies want to see. it doesnt cater for bands that deserve to play a festival of such history. Donnington is pretty historic place and you cant tell me that Paramore or You Me At Six deserve to play there after bands like Iron Maiden have.

ok i am a massive metal fan and all the people dissing paramore need to grow up, if you dont like them then dont watch them, and megadeth would be fucking awesme! some of that announcement looks boring as shit, however download always has the best atmosphere and they always seem to make it a good festival so i say roll on download!! \m/ \m/

I’m still amazed that Metal Hammer, a major publication, can’t be bothered to get someone to update their website the moment a big summer festival line up is revealed. Especially a metal/rock festival! Surely it’s not difficult to be on the ball a couple of times a year?!
