Download Reviews: Hatebreed & Down
And the reviews just keep on coming…
Hatebreed
They may not have anything in the way of industry hype but when you catch Hatebreed on the right day, they will kick your ass in 543 different ways. Today was their day.
Following DevilDriver and their mammoth circle pit is completely unenviable but Jasta and his hardcore mob are on the form of their lives. Getting everyone to spin their shirts around in the air like a helicopter and with the best onstage line all weekend (“if I don’t see you moving, you’re a fucking Coldplay fan!”), at 16:18 on Saturday they’re definitely stating a claim to be the best band of the day.
Ending on a mega ‘Destroy Everything’, Hatebreed just all-out slayed.
Down
Arriving to a heroes welcome, Down follow Hatebreed’s full-on assault with more grooves than your papa’s vinyl collection. Anselmo is inspired, genuinely looking like he’s having a wail of a time. After rediscovering his mojo last year, the phrase ‘stronger than all’ has never been more apt.
In all seriousness, Down couldn’t fail today and they didn’t. What a Saturday! Every band on the main stage so far have been immense!
