Chaos comes as standard with a show from mathcore psychopaths The Dillinger Escape Plan but when it starts raining cats, dogs, cows and giraffes as the band roar into a savage ’43% Burnt, shit gets to a whole other level of crazy.

The members of DEP are always an incredible sight to see through their finger-flying technicality and non-stop chaotic energy but it’s as if the Donington deluge inspires them to give that extra 10%. Amps are hauled across the stage and used as leaping boards, speaker stacks are scaled and just general havoc is created. Milk Lizard, Sunshine The Werewolf and an enormous Black Bubblegum are highlights but in truth, there’s not one wasted second and as the finals strains of the immense Farewell, Mona Lisa ring out, we’re already counting down the days to the band’s return this Autumn. Unbelievable scenes.
