Download To Announce In 2 Weeks
We reckon AC/DC are going to be part of the party but we’ll get a definite answer in 2 weeks time!
According to Download promoter Andy Copping’s Twitter, Download 2010 will reveal their first batch of bands in just over 2 weeks time. Speaking on his Twitter, Copping revealed “Loads of rumours going round about who’s playing Download…not long left…the first wave of bands will be announced in just over two weeks.”
As well as the now infamous AC/DC leak, we also reecently included a batch of bands we think may be part of this year’s Download line-up.
Stay tuned to Hammer as we’ll be bringing you all of the best rumours and revealling the first bands to be playing Download 2010 in the near future.

ACDC headlining download? hardly an earth shattering annoucement, not as if this will be thier first tour in years as it?
Unless the original GNR are playing download, then they are kidding themselves on about the biggest news story in 2010.

Download – high on its own hype as ever.
Andy said that his announcement was going to be bigger than the big 4 that Sonisphere managed to book.
A second-rate hard-rock band such as AC/DC isn’t exactly revolutionary in any way IMO. Even SOAD, Soundgarden and the original GnR wouldn’t top the big 4, hell, it wouldn’t even top Rammstein and Maiden.

I have to agree with Soniphere putting on the big 4 in poland, Also booking The legands Iron maiden to headline most of the european shows including the uk \m/ then i dont think Download stands a chance on topping that.
I was at Sonisphere last year and it by far topped Download in my opinion. Better festival in every way
yeah ok sonisphere managed the big four in poland and the czech republic and iron maiden/rammstein here. thats impressive but if you look at the other bands at knebworth this year its hardly worth it, BMTH, Slayer (who may yet still have to cancel if arya’s condition doesnt improve remember), Anthrax who IMO are one of the most overrated bands of all time, Placebo FFS! Its really not going to be anything special, I would much rather catch rammstein and maiden when they are doing their own stuff, Ill wait patiently for Download to announce their bands before i decide whether or not i go to a festival this year seeing as how im in america for bloodstock

Theres no need for the “I think ACDC will pay” stuff, as we actually know they are playing, unlike the metallica leak, it was legit. I ironically do think metallica will pay though,and then either soundgarden/muse or maybe even pearl jam as the other headliners. Looking at that general list i don’t see anything that brings huge news or triumphs over sonispheres initial announcement. However we could be suprised.

1st stage headliners: SOAD, Van Halen, AC/DC (not my favourite but got to have them as they are strong possibility)
2nd stage headliners: Alice In Chains, Motorhead, Lamb of god.
3rd Stage: Gallows (they do put on good live shows on small stages), Electric Wizard, Behemoth.
(Soundgarden are headlining saturday)

My money is on a grunge Day, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and STP all together. But Download is too late, already bought Sonisphere tickets. Its about time download started announcing bands sooner like every other festival going instead of letting you know a few bands a week right up until the week before. its pathetic.

I get that it’s probably a clever marketing ploy on some level, but from the outside, two weeks seems more than a bit stupid.
Only Download could be so swept up in it’s own importance that it has to announce it’s announcements.

i went 2 dwnload 2007, headliners were shite apart from maiden, they had mostly shite bands, apart from slayer, machine head, napalm death, motley crue, hell yeah, dimmu, and a few others it was shite, prob be shite this year as well

Why the
face Jordan? Is it not good ONE rock band can stick to their principals? And unless Download can pull 3 amazing bands out of the hat, Sonisphere’s going to kick ass, seeing as Bloodstocks been ruined for me by Fear Factory Headlining. Playing I can understand, but Headlining? Get bent. They haven’t done ANYTHING for years, and it was years before then that they released anything half decent!
